Groff, J. Paul

J. Paul Groff, 82, of Lititz, passed away on January 22, 2009, at his mountain home in Juniata County following a tractor accident. Born in Bart Twp., Lancaster Co., he was the son of the late Willis A. & Viella Mendenhall Groff. He was married for 63 years to Helen L. Spicher Groff. Paul was a member of the Church of Christ, Lamberton Lodge #476 F&AM of Lancaster, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine of Harrisburg, Tall Cedars #27 of Manheim, York Co. Shrine Club, Lancaster County Shrine Club, and Goodwin Council #19 of Lancaster. Prior to his retirement he worked as a plumber for Ladder Towers of Akron and before that worked for Shasta Trailers of Leola and Hubley’s Toy Co. in Lancaster. Survivors include his wife and sons, George P., husband of Sherry Groff, Tampa, FL, Jack S., husband of Kerri Groff, Green River, WY; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, 216 S. Broad St., Lititz. There will be a visitation with the family from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M.. Lamberton Lodge #476 will conduct their Masonic service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Quarryville, PA. Contributions in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
